15 Day to CCDA: Praise and Petition

In everything, with thanksgiving, bring your requests to God. Be anxious about nothing.

Praise God that there are now 53 exhibitors
Pray for the commitment of protective donors
Pray for the wireless computer needs
Pray for all the post-Labor Day publicity: radio and print press releases, emails, faxes and public service announcements
Praise God that members of next year's St. Louis committee could meet with the Philly team
Pray for the CCDA national staff: Cheryl Cornelius and Maryann Bolden (thanks for meeting with us), Jimmy Gaither and Gordon Murphy.
Pray for the facility set-up. Pray for good communication and cooperation between CCDA and the hotel, sound and service providers, etc.
Praise God for the high schools who have volunteered to put the registration packets together.
Pray for the set-up of the Prayer Room. Pray that the commitee will be able to acquired all the items needed in its design.
Pray that the Prayer Room will be conducive to the spiritual needs of and be a blessing for the attendees, speakers, worship leaders, musicians, CCDA board and staff, and even hotel personnel.
Pray for all the each committee's last minute details/responsibilities
Pray against any spiritual attack and warfare
Pray that the conference would be a blessing to all attendees. Pray that each church and agency represented will be blessed and each community transformed in the name of Jesus

40 Days of Praise and Petition

Hotel reservations are going fast. Pray that we can find housing for all registrants.

Pray for the health of Philly Committee members and spouses.

There are several issues to resolve regarding workshop space. Pray, also, that the hotel will offer us a lower internet charges.

The Philly leadership team is meeting on 9/5 with the 2007 team from St. Louis. Pray that this will ease the work of the next host committee.

Praise God that Spanish language translators and translation equipment have been located.

We’ve raised $15k. Pray for donors of another $17,000.

Fifteen exhibitors have registered. There is space for 45

A worship and praise team that mirrors the diversity of CCDA has been put together.

A Book signing is planned for after the Thursday evening plenary, which will include a dozen or so authors who have published in the past year or so.

The Volunteer Committee has a list of 70 volunteers. Another 80 are coming from Mission Year, Center City Academy, grad students, 20 Eastern in the City students.

Four tours are planned. The Kensington tour, Power of arts in community development, is now ready to go. Two transportation volunteers have been recruited

Discounted parking vouchers have been found

The Publicity Committee is still working with radio and will make more media kits. A Fax blitz to area churches ongoing and 10,000 e-mail messages are being sent

Volunteers are needed for Unity Day on the Parkway, August 20th

The Registration Committee needs to make appropriate arrangements for media staff to meet with interview subjects.

The Youth Committee’s Reload conference at CCDA will focus on youth violence. Pray for high youth registration. Next planning meeting: August 14th.

There will be a live video feed for the parenting room. A DVD/VCR needed for session tapes and children’s films

Prayer Room volunteers will be available every hour to pray with people during the conference, and to pray for our cities. The next planning meeting is 8/17. Pray against any obstacles in setting up of Prayer Room.

Remember to pray for everyone in the CCDA office: Cheryl, Maryann, Jimmy, Gordon, etc.
And give thanks and praise to God early and often (like voting in Chicago)

Corporate Fundraising Committee – Praise God for donations/pledges of $15,500. Pray for more church involvement and meeting the goal of $32,000.
Discover the City Committee – Pray that restaurants will supply them with discount coupons and that they can create appropriate maps to assist out-of-towners.
Diversity Committee – Give thanks for several Spanish language workshops and other means to provide translations.
Exhibit Committee – Praise God for 14 committed exhibitors. Pray for 36 more.
Facilities and Operations Committee – Pray for all the logistical details and other needs.
General Chairperson – Pray for Vivian Nix-Early in this important role.
Housing Committee Pray for the daily needs of this committee.
Hospitality Committee - Pray for the daily needs of this committee.
Publicity Committee – Give thanks for Christian radio stations committing time to CCDA. Pray for upcoming press releases and information kits that will be made available to different groups.
Prayer Committee – Pray for the setting up of the Prayer Room (#402). Pray for the need for monitors/intercessory pray-ers.
Products Committee – Pray for donations of Philly products. Pray that the conference as a whole will be able to honor God as the first environmentally friendly CCDA.
Program Committee - Pray for the daily needs of this committee.
Registration Committee – Pray for 500+ Philadelphia attenders.
Tour Ministry Site Committee– Praise God for the commitments of two ministries. Pray for two more (and back-ups).
Transportation Committee – Praise God that the City has provided discounted parking coupons.
Volunteer Committee – Praise God for the commitment of City Center Academy and Mennonite High School seniors to prepare the 2,000 (approx.) registration packages. Praise God for 62 volunteers. Pray for the need of another 88.
Website Committee – Pray for the daily needs of this committee.
Workshop Committee– Praise God for the finalization of workshop details (see the list at www.ccda.org).
Worship Committee – Pray as they work to have praise and worship that has a consistent theme and is God-honoring throughout.
Youth Committee – Pray for their July 28 meeting with “Reload” to provide training at CCDA for urban youth workers and student leaders.
CCDA National – Pray for Cheryl Cornelius and others as they coordinate the Chicago office/Philadelphia details. Praise God for Maryann Bolton’s renewed health after surgery.

Funding Needed

Continue to pray that CCDA-Philly will reach its funding goal of $32,000. Pray that God will encourage members of the Development Committee as a hoped-for $10,000 grant was just denied.

Exhaustion, Burn-out and Room 402

Pray for the committee chairs, especially against exhaustion and burn-out. Also, Room 402 of the Center City Marriott has been designated "The Prayer Room" for the conference. Begin to pray for God's Spirit to prepare that place for us.

Concerns from CCDA National

Pray that they can find affordable space for their Wed. Institute classes. They recently discovered that the hotel rooms would not be available until 2 PM and they need the rooms for 9 a.m. Pray that God will surprise them with a perfect solution.
Pray for Maryann Bolton in the CCDA office. She will be having surgery at the end of May. Pray that she will have a speedy recovery.
Pray that God will provide the resources needed for the conference worship coordinator.
Pray that they can get into the ballroom early enough to and set up the conference sound system and lights so they are ready for Wednesday evening, September 27.

The Prayer Room Has a Design Committee

Praise God for the commitment of folks from Tenth Presbyterian Church. Prayers regarding the Conference Prayer Room have been answered. People are exploring suitable designs for the room that will make it conducive for praise, prayer, petition, meditation and confession. Pray for the donation of needed "props" (a list will be posted as needed).

75 Attend Perkins Luncheon

Approximately 75 leaders attended a March 27 luncheon at Spruce Hill Christian School at 42nd and Baltimore. CCDA-Philly Fundraising Chair Seth Cohen's original vision was to have 10-12 leaders come and meet John Perkins. This grew just a little bit. Praise God!! Pray for CCDA-Philly's need to raise $30,000 for conference expenses. Give thanks for the pledges received, so far, from Tenth and Woodland Presbyterian Churches. Prayer Walk January 9 at the Marriott

The Prayer Committee is "prayer-walking" in and around the site of the 2006 CCDA conference. Committee members will begin its ministry of place praying against demonic attack. The bible tells us "our fight is not against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities." We will also pray for the presence of God at the site. Wherever God's people are, God is in their midst. The bible calls Jesus Emmanuel--God with us. Emmanuel has given us victory through his shed blood on the cross. We are victors through him as he has fought and will continue to fight our battles for us.

Pray against spiritual attack and against anything that might try to silence the message of Christ . Pray that God will give the committee chairs wisdom and discernment and the ability to balance multiple tasks. Pray that he will order the steps of the chairpersons accordingly. Hold up these specific requests. Discover the City Committee needs 2 additional members. Pray that the Publicity Committee can creating a strategy to reach the entire region with the CCDA message, that it can create an effective team to get the message out, and that it can network favorably with all print, radio and television outlets. Pray for the Funding Committee that God would soften hearts to be gracious to CCDA, that he would use the act of giving to change the lives of donors, and that the word would spread that CCDA is coming to Philly causing donors to give without being asked.
